The only thing that can get us through this wave of insanity is unity. For Fatima, Ada, Yetunde, Tunde, Obi, Efe, Adamu, and Akpan to come together in unity and leave behind whatever differences they may have.

20th October 2020, you wept the loudest. For your children who died in the hands of those sworn to protect those affiliated with your name. On this day, the flag we proudly raised lies covered with the blood of the innocents. These ones never wanted to be martyrs; they simply...

For Jimoh Isiaq. For Ayomide Taiwo. For Sleek. For Peter Ofurum. For Chika Ibeku. For Chibuike Anams. For Ifeoma Abugu. For Kolade Johnson. For Chijioke Iloanya. For Tina Ezekwe, and so many others, too numerous to mention, all cut off in their prime. And for them, we cannot give up...

The definition of synergy for couples is subjective and based on individual perspectives.  Find out the synergy that works best for you. Your definition may be different from someone else. All that matters is that your partnership produces additions and multiplications because synergy doesn’t recognize subtractions and divisions.

When I kill all forms of human understanding and seek the voice within, I truly believe you weren’t silent. You were only waiting for the perfect moment for your glory to be revealed.

Little Sarah, the five-year-old daughter of another teacher, skipped around him, oblivious to his mood. And each time she played next to him, he did not attempt to return the smile she gave. Mercy said she quietly observed from a corner, waiting for a scold or sneer from the heartless...

I am learning every day to see the pains of others even when life itself is giving me knocks and kicks. And of course, I still make mistakes along the way and retreat into the “me-me” pit sometimes. However, the words of Jackie Robinson which go: “The measure of a...

What does it really mean to be happy? Now, I’m not referring to the transient wave that occasionally sweeps through you when you’re having a good time but in the real sense of the word “happy”. The kind that isn’t dependent on circumstances or events. Who wants to be happy?...

September 20, 2020/

Okay, I admit the title may just be a bit harsh but still, you know what they say about the truth huh? So what’s the truth? No matter how hard and emotionless we project ourselves, most of us want to love, be loved, and have someone to call ours. To...

An absolute given in life is that people will come and go. Sadly, we don’t have the power to control this sure trajectory. It can be hard to let go especially if the person had a home in your heart. But sometimes, love turns sour and becomes a thorn. Or...

My last post for the Year 2020 focused on gratitude, and I still feel the same way, even as I pen this down....

It just dawned on me that this will officially be the last article for the year 2020. I’ve decided I’ll make this one...

About Me

Hello! I'm Diane

I am someone who has always turned to writing to make sense of things. Especially the parts of life that feel confusing, heavy or quietly complicated.

I write about mental health, relationships, identity, faith, and the in-between seasons we often move through without much language. Most of what you will find here comes from lived experience, observation, and a habit of sitting with thoughts a little longer than most people do.

I do not write because I have the answers. I write because it helps me understand myself, other people and the world around me. Writing gives me the space to slow down and to say things honestly, without needing to tidy them up. Some of what I write is still in the process of becoming, and I am comfortable letting it be that way.

Thoughts on Ink is where those reflections live. If you are drawn to writing that feels thoughtful, unhurried and real, I am glad you are here.
